Kibera Academy is operated by the Free Methodist Church of Nairobi. It has over 250 children from 4 to 14 years of age all of whom live in the Kibera community.

Kibera is believed to be the largest slum in the whole of Africa, and is so large and densly populated that it is said to be impossible to cross in a day.

The Headmaster of the Academy is Andrew Sava, and the pastor responsible for the management of the school is Rev Elly Kisala, a graduate of NEGST (now Africa International University). OC TEAM is currently supporting a new Medical Care Programme for the children to ensure that basic medical help is available at no cost to families. It also hopes to assist with a food programme that provides a meal each day for the children.
